On Arnold Lobel

A brief life

Arnold Lobel was born in 1933 in Los Angeles, California. He studied art at the Pratt Institute in New York and began his career as an illustrator for children's books. In 1955 he married Anita Kempler, also a children's author, with whom he had two children. Lobel died in 1987.
